Speedo Install...

Can anyone tell me where that Stock Speedo WITH tach, tech note went on how to install it in our trucks, if ours didnt come with one orginial please...i know its around here somewhere, i just cant remember where...Thanks

jsut take out the old one and put in the one with the tach. You have to move the speedo cable over to the left. Thats about it. The only thing that wont work is the clock.

depending on the truck, mines a 92 and i put in a cluster from an 86 and the clock worked, but the odd thing about them is, if u have an older cluster and u install it in to a newer truck, the engine light lights up as a washer fluid light, atleast mine did

ahh...thats interesting...Mike, you still got the tech somewhere around here on how to make the tach work when installing one if you didnt orginially have one...im pretty sure it was you that was talking about it...or maybe someone else...there's a link to another site i believe on what wires to hook up where, etc...

i have a 90 that was bare stock.
i put the new cluster in w/ tach and the clock worked fine. the only thing was that a ECM light was always on. never found out what it was for, so i just pulled the bulb out.
and i never had my engine light us as anything else.

Ok, I'd still like to know how to hook up the tach properly...Anyone??

man, just plug it in, it'll work fine, i have done 2 clusters and they've both worked, chances are, it'll work fine

umm ok, i thought there was a few wires that you had to manually hook up if your truck didnt orginially come with a speedo and tach (stock)....maybe that was for something else...clock? meh, who know's thanks mike.

my truck didnt come a tach or clock, i plugged it in and and put it back together and i was done

oh ok...must have been something else...
