Whats behind your seat???

I just wanted to see what people have done behind the seats in our trucks, wether it be a standard cab or extended cab. Did you put in a sub box, did you clean it up, whatever. If you have pics post em up, if not just explain what you did. I am trying to get an idea of what to do with the extra space, now that I have an extended cab.

i had two 10's in a box me & my dad madefor my standard cab...two seperate ported boxes for each speaker with a one piece front made so that the seat would slide all the way back.....the amps were mounted in the center over the tranny hump with the wiring concealed behind the solid front..very nice setup looked professionally built...until it got stolen

Empty space where there were two little flip down seats. I put the trim piece back that goes right under the rear glass so when the box gets built it will go up to there and look good. The box will be for two 12's a 10 disc changer and a 1200w amp. I do need to take the seatbelts out of the corners but I didn't want to deal with those metal plates the night I removed everything else.

one thing, lost_b2200, will the 10 disc changer skip being in with the 12" subs or do those changers not skip? I wanted to get a disc changer, but I didnt know if those skiped more than the tuner, but I wasnt going to mount mine in a box. Good ideas though.

It might! It was just sitting in the hatch of my mx-3 for about a month and didn't skip very much then. I wanted to mount it vertically and flush with the front of the box right in the middle so it could easily be accessed from the driver seat. Heat may be an issue so it might be port-cooled. We'll see.

I think they make those little fans with probes that turn on to vent the box and amp area. that might work for the cd changer too. can those be wired in to any tuner, or do you have to have a special one?

to prevent the skipping just get a portable music device (i-pod, etc.) and use it instead of the 10-disc changer.....it can hold 10 times as many songs, is a lot less hassle with the wiring, & more compact...at least that is my plan...

The one I have is an Audiovox Prestige it connects directly inline with the antenna. (Antenna -> Modulator -> Head unit) Sound is great and no interference or anything. And it has it's own disply and controlls. Also for the idea to use a portable, you can get the Audiovox modulator to pipe in sound from any source directly into your receiver through the antenna. It has selector for one of two frequencies.
