???cruise control???

ok wassup guys, i have had this truck now for about 5 or 6 months and have been playin around with the cruise control tryin to get it to work. any ideas???? it's a factory cruise, the switch on the dash lights up when i cut it on. but it will not set. so i know absolutely nothing about this unit.... do i need to be goin a certain speed to activate it or should i rip it out and throw it on ebay or part it off?????

Factory cruise will not set under 30mph.Push the cruise main switch in which should arm the system and turn the orange lite on.Get truck over 30mph and turn cruise handle counter clockwise to set and take foot off gas.It should be on.If not, u have a master fuse for the system,check and see if ity is ok.If not, u may have a bad cruise master switch on the stalk.If so, I have a new one depending on whether ur truck is auto or 5 speed.
