dash lights out ??????????

hey im new on here but i go on yotascene cause ive got a toyota and a mazda.

umm basically my dash lights stopped working now ive had half the dash apart to look for any cuts in wires but is till can take it mroe apart which i will have to do and fuses have been checked and changed jsut to be sure but i cant see why the lights arent working the cluster warning lights and indicators still come on but no backing lights so i cant drive at night well cant drive by the speed limit at night.

maybe theres a plug that may have been pulled ? i installed my cd player and unplugged the stock unit do anyof these plugs need to be connected to make a circuit or any kind , another bad thing is the truck was stolen a while back and i dont know how they started it all i know is they ahd the fuse box cover off but no fuses missing or any tampering with it that i could see and ic ant find any cut wires.

anyway if theres a common problem to this please let me know and the dimmer is connected , do these dimmers die in the ass which would result in the luights not working ??

Welcome to the BScene - I have had problems with my dimmer switch - beside the guage cluster. it is easy to replace if ya get one from a wrecker.

Stupid question i have to ask - did you check all the bulbs? If someone was in your fuse box they could have blown them out or popped the fuse.

most likely the dimmer switch u can bypass it with a jumper wire

What u want to do is on the connector part (already apart of the truck the hard wire) is jump a lil wire between the two top parts....

hey guys thanks for the help all it was , was a shorted out wire i replaced a fuse and it worked for a little bit then shorted again haha its all fixed now tho so i can drive at night again jsut need a handbrake and itl be all roadworthy.
