Having read that the seats from a Mazda 626 is a direct bolt-in, I went to the lokal breaker to find a pair.

However, they do not fit

Spacing between the two front holes on the seat frame, is approx 40 cm on my B2200, but the ones from the Mazda 626 (same year) is 46 cm...

I checked a couple of 323's from around '90, and they seem to have the same spacing for the holes. Anyone who knows if they actually fit?

There were a nice pair of multi-adjustable bucket seats in a 323 GTI, that would look good in the old B2200

sorry to hear that they didn't fit. I have a set in my 89 regular cab that I'm sure came out of an 88 626 - they bolted right in. I actually installed them in the wreckers parking lot.

Strange?

What is the spacing between the two front bolt holes on your seat frame?

I will go out to the shed tomorrow and measure it up..

maybe the euro market 626 was different from the north american market? Maybe the 323 seats will fit instead.

Yeah, could be, but it seems strange that the seat frame should be that different between US and Europe!?

I'm quite sure the 323 seats will fit, but I would have preferred a set of 626 seats, since thet are more comfy..

If the 626 you're looking at is completely different than the North American model, there is a good chance the seats would be different. You could also try some early '90s Honda Civic seats, apparently they fit pretty well...try years from like 1988 to 1994. I've seen lots of guys put them in.

One more thing you could do is pick almost any seat you want and have them modified to fit your stock Mazda seat frames. That means disassembling the seats though. Some are riveted to the seat pans, some are bolted. Try and find a set that will bolt in first before you go swapping frames.
