I don't have time to look through the threads to see if anyone has ever put a 626 dash in a b2200 so im am opening this thread to hopefully save me so time and eyes....well i have a 86 mazda 626 GT (turbo) that is going to be my engine doner and i want to use the digital guage cluster that is in there...i know i can just cut that section out and fiberglass it to my dash but would rather swap the whole dash if it was possible...i measured both dashes and the one in the 626 is about 1" wider but that could have been from the guage cluster sticking out so far...but if anyone has any info on this let me know

If it's wider, you can probably cut and section it somewhere. I would say right down the middle, but then that will throw off all your climate controls and they won't fit.

You'll also need the wiring harness from the 626 to use the gauge cluster, and I wouldn't know where to begin to make that work with the B series harness.

I think your best bet would be to just cut out the section of the dash with the cluster and mold it into the B's dash. Might look cool.

might not need the harness, look at the plugin's on both dashes, since they are both mazda, the computers could be sending the same signal to operate....only thing that might be diff would be the speedo, on the trucks they run by a cable, with that dash being electronic, it would have to have something to convert the signal to electronic.....

yeah, seeing how he said it was a digital dash I assumed he would probably need the wiring and plugs from the 626 speedo and splice it into the truck wiring or something.

Also with the size of the dash,if you mean d2d,yes,it will have to be sectioned, but if it's from window to seat,it should be fine, just make sure you don't run into problems with the steering column.

yea i have the whole car i got for $200 so i have all the wiring...also i meant door to door but like i said the surrounding around the cluster sticks out a little so when i measure it the tape wasn't completely straight because i just wanted to get a rough estimate...i guess i will remove the gauge shroud and then take another measurement....and im not sure about the speedo because i have only had the car for like a week and a half and haven't really messed with it...this past weekend my dad and i took my engine out and put it in his mazda truck that had a bad engine, so my truck is out of commision for awhile until we get that 626 turbo running to see what we need to rebuild...all i need is an external fuel pump so i can use my stock extended cab gas tank that i no longer use just to get it running, because the stock gas tank is full of water because the guy i bought it from left the cap of for like 2 years while it was sitting in his yard because he couldnt get a title for it...when we went to pick it up it ran off starter fluid for a few seconds so we know it runs and it didnt sound like a rod was slinging so we think we will be alright with just rebuilding the head and replacing gaskets....oh and also the odometer only says 96k so that could be a good thing

was the 626 f.t or carb'd? if carb'd get a low psi fuel pump or a pump & a regulator that will get it down the proper psi, if f.i, you'll need to see what the psi was @ the fuel rail / throttle body so you know what pump to get or what size regulator to buy aswell.....

well today if i get around to it i will take the guage cluster out and see if the speedo works by cable or by a plug....the dash is cracked really bad so i may just take it out and see if it will fit and if it does then i will find one in better shape whether it be analog or digital because the digital guage will fit in either...ill keep you posted on my progress...my dad got a fuel pump from work to use just to get the car running so we can see what is need for the rebuild...im trying to save as much money as i can so i just want to do minimal other than a 3 angle valve job and just put the damn thing in...this truck is my daily so i miss her ....i am driving my dad 97 accord that has pearl paint, lowered, rims, leather, system, and some engine mods, so its not that bad

well i finnally got around to taking that guage cluster out and it does have a cable just like our trucks...so using the guage cluster wouldn't be a problem except for the wiring which shouldnt be hard because i have the whole car!! The plugs on the digital dash are round and i could just cut them off and splice it into mine...and about the dash...the dash is exactly 54 1/4" and our truck's dash is 53 1/4"....but our trucks are 55 1/2 from door to door so fitting this dash should be to hard ! i took some pics of the guage cluster so i could post them to let yall see what it looks like...i have never posted a pic so i will see if i can get them posted
