i've been workin in woodshop this last semester at my high school on a nite stand... then i finished it and had to come up with a new project... i'm like "what can i do to benefit my truck?"
...
so i decided i could build a sub box... and here she is...

i think it looks pretty badass... i used a shitload of screws, some caulking, and 3/4 mdf...

there is 3 chambers, 2 for the subs, and the middle is for the amp mount, thought about recessing it 2 1/2" so the amp will be flush with the face (still think i might)

the sub chambers are 1.28 cf each...

gonna run some 15" subs...

Nice work. Are you going to fiberglass it or carpet it or something? That should look pretty nice when it's done.

That's my downside to having a reg cab,not a lot of room for stereo...

i was thinkin of doin fiberglass or something... not really sure... anyone got any ideas?

fiberglass it. when you sand it, prime it, paint it, and clear it, it will be bad a$$!

thinkin about makin it where it kinda curves over th amp n all... amp will be in middle...

Just a couple words of advice that will help in the future....Oh and first off I should say that is a nice looking box.

1.) Always attach the front panel first, then silicone from the inside, then attach teh back panel, you can silicone the inside through the sub holes and it will give a really good seal.

2.) The round wire connectors actually cause resistance in the wiring, and can cause a power drop at the sub, you are better off to run a hole with the wires( at least 12 gauge preferably 10 or 8 ) and silicone the hole up and make sure the hole is tight around the wires...then let the wires run a bit long on the inside of the box and the amp side, that way there is one less connection in the system, one less chance of failure and less resistance.

also make sure if your going to change sub size, make sure the airspace matches the sub, larger subs need more space.
