So I have my 86 mazda b2000, so these are my plans for the interior.

99 Ford explorer tan leather bucket seats, tan and black center consule, and tan and black over head cousel with display( this is a short cousel that displays the temp, wich direction your going, and the weather). black dash, black head liner, black interior trim, tan carpet, tan door panels. Im also going to move the radio up to the pocket location. What do you think. I might add the exterior is going to be black with the chrome bumper, grill, shaved door handles, and chrome nissan rims ( Ive always dug the way they look).

should be pretty sweet.. however making all those gadgets work is sure gonna be fun. I would look at the 97 explorers too.. cause they have the same features w/ a slightly different style seat and the overhead console thing w/ the temp guage is shapped a little different. At least my 97 compared to my room mates 99 is. And make sure u do good body work under black paint.. it shows everything.

No I built a few truck and 1 car. Mt last project was a 99 explorer hense the extra parts I have for the interior from my parts truck.

The explorer sported a 3inch drop, cobra r rims and of course the supercharged 340 hp engine, with custom interior.

another mazda b2200, s10 blazer, a full show oldsmobile alero, wich is the car on bodykits.org showing the body kit for sale, that ran a 13.3 quater at infeion raceway in cali.

I plan on potentialy bagging it, but not till I finish the interior and the new enigne, and everything else.

sweet man, sounds like a sweet project. i like the colors you are choosing for the interior. i am thinking about building an overhead console for mine, which is why i haven't finished my dash yet. i don't know if i want to bring it to the floor or leave it where it is.

Sound cool, but are the Explorer seats the horrible captains chairs? Man,I hate those. A friend of mine has a '98 Explorer with a tan cloth interior with the captains chairs. They're horrible. But that's just my 2 cents worth.

What material is the headliner and door panels and everything going to be? Suede? Cloth? Tweed? Leather? Vinyl?

I'm doing suede door panels, headliner and seats in mine.

Yea there the captains chair, there confy for me, Im going to go with vinyl I believe, still unsure thow.

Vinyl will give it a clean look, but it'll get sticky and wrinkly.

I worked at the plant that builds the seats for the 300/Charger/Magnum (just got laid off 4 weeks ago),and the leather seats are actually vinyl, called Naugahyde...and it's the cheapest crap ever. They are wrinkly as crap until you iron the hell out of them, but once they cool down they go all wrinkly again and look like ass....then those wrinkles will turn into creases and cracks and look like even worse ass in a few months from regular wear and tear.

I was at the Toronto Autoshow in January and I was looking at the Chryslers on display, and I got into a Charger SRT8 and I noticed how wrinkly and horrible the seats looked. There's no way they would have passed through QC,so I flipped down the rear seat and pulled up the velcro flap on the carpet and found the production ticket and it had the build date on it and the car was only 6 months old and the seats looked like they were 6 years old. The side bolsters were all cracked and wrinkled and even the suede was wrinkly. Before an SRT8 seat leave the plant,it's been taken off the line and gets a thourough steaming, irnoning and finesse to make sure it looks mint before being shipped. These looked like poo.
