U probably will break something.Unless u have a heated garage this is not a good time to be taking a headliner out.U need to remove all the plastic trim pieces around the window and door frames and they are all held in by plastic clips for the most part.THIS IS OLD BRITTLE PLASTIC SO UNLESS U HAVE A GOOD HAIR DRYER OR HEAT GUN AND LOTS OF PATIENCE BE PREPARED TO REPLACE A BUNCH OF TRIM AND CLPS.Sorry fo the caps my puter went crazy.I have a thin piece of plastic like a tongue depressor docs use that I use to remove trim-keeps from breaking things.BJ

ya i do have a heated garage...and a heat gun. the only interior piece left still in my truck would be the dash (which is half way out) and the headliner. but the only thing i didnt really know how to get out was the pillar pieces, just because on my old truck it was held in by bolt and this one is held in by clips.

It's very easy to get out. Take out the a-pillar trim, then if you have a std cab, there is a corner piece on each side with with looks like would be push pin,but it's just a cap with a screw behind it (this is above the seatbelts FYI). Then, the headliner is tucked up into the roof at the windshield and behind the rubber of the rear window. Once you get that out,it's just flexible metal rods that hold it up,so just bend them and pull it out.

I struggled with mine a little, but now that I know what I'm doing,it'll be much easier next time I ever have to do it.

Recommended tools for the job would ideally be an awl or aul...however the hell you spell it....thing used for removing push pins, and a thin flat head screwdriver. Take your time and don't rush it or get frustrated, because that's how you'll break stuff like I did,but I didn't really care because it was all getting replaced anyways....and it was burgundy,so it had to be punished.
