k,so I just installed my stereo in the truck, got the deck all wired up,everything works,but...

it doesn't hold memory. why not? I had Midnightmike help me out with the wiring, and that got me to the point where everything was working. I remember last time I had to run a wire to the battery for my constant power. Do I have to do that again?

Second thing...I've reinstalled my climate controls (pain in the ass!!) I only get hot air, even when it's on right cold. All the cables were connected to the proper switches and stuff, they all seem to move just fine. Also,no batter wheteher I put it on vent, bilevel, heat, heat def or defrost,it only blows out the centre vents. What could be causing this? All that matters is I have heat for now,but to get the defrost working would be nice.

thanks

you may have to... you could tap your memory wire into your constant as i did... i had the same problem.. just jumped on the quick fix to cruse... but since it didnt cause any problems i left it alone

memory wire...hmm...didn't think of that,lol....that wouldn't happen to be one of the extra wires I've got coming from my HU harness such as a solid blue one would it? Just wire that into my yellow wire then? I can't remember what I did last time...I think I ran a wire from my battery and wired it into my yellow wire.

I know in my Isuzu,I got one of the adaptor harnesses and it said NOT to hook up my HU yellow wire to the yellow wire on the truck harness. I had to wire BOTH my red and yellow together into the either yellow or the red,I don't remember....but anyways,if I went yellow to yellow,it would make the parking lights come on,lol. Once I wired it up,I could turn the deck on and off without the key in the ignition,so every time I turned off the truck,I had to manually turn off the deck and it was a pain in the ass,but that was the only way i could get it to operate.

Mike, Typically the blue wire is the trigger wire to your external amps (don't hook it up to the battery!) The yellow wire is the constant power wire (and is usually a little thicker than the red wire) The red wire is connected to a switched lead ( one that has 12v+ when the ignition key is on).

oh mikey..... the yellow wire from the deck should go to the single wire with the plug on the end of it, i dont remember the color, that is the constant power (memory wire), if its not working then check your fuses, the one for the memory wire is the ROOM fuse,(the interior dome light)

thanks guys. I'll have to check it in the morning. It's windy and cold and actually snowing right now.

I'll let you know how I made out tomorrow.

hmmm...well I got it all wired up properly, not needing to run a wire to the battery. The truck sat overnight and the deck did save the memory,so I guess I'm set.

Now to address my climate control problem.
