I bought a nice 3 spoke Grant Challenger 860 steering wheel yesterday, which upon mock fitting, will look fantastic once it's installed.

However, you need an installation kit for it,and I got the one that was at the store, but it's the wrong one. The part number is 3196. I went to Grant's website and looked up one for the Mazdas and couldn't find anything,so I emailed Grant directly. However,I don't know how long they'll take to reply.

Does anyone else run a Grant steering wheel,or have a part number for manufacturer for an install kit? Apparently I can only use a Grant install kit with the Grant wheel though.

Just kind of annoying I went to go install everything and the collar ended up being too big for my steering shaft,so now I have to return it and find out the proper one to get,if there even is one.

when you got the wheel did it have a small round cup/ring already mounted to the wheel...if not that is probably the part that is missing ---i had the same problem a noticed this when looking at one in the package at the store....the 3196 is correct if you have that ring///i had a wheel given to me and had the same problem...also summit offers a kit for installation..

No,there is no cup or anything mounted to the wheel. That comes in the installation kit,and it all fits together....just the adaptor collar that slides onto your steering shaft is too big,so I need a smaller one.

I just got a reply back from Grant today. 3196 was the one I got, which was obviously wrong, and Mazdawg is right, the correct one is 3597,which now I have to go order from Crappy Tire tomorrow.

Dev,how the hell did you get a 3196 to fit?? The collar that goes into the Mazda shaft is waaaaay too big!

I picked up the 3597 yesterday and just installed the wheel this morning with no fuss. Looks mint. Pics to come.

My fault, I realized that I had used a 3196 in the seven, not in the mini!

Sorry guys, my mistake!

Dev

Glad to see you got the right one, canb't wait to see pictures!
