anyone run them in their truck? other than in the doors and in dash where else do yall put them, i thought of making an overhead console with them like some wranglers have but wouldnt know how to mount it...so i need some ideas. pics if you have them. thanks -bf

An overhead console will not give you proper imaging, although most people don't really care about that anyways.... I prefer the kick panels myself, in custom pods aimed at the head of the opposite person.

i glassed two sets into my doors, the overhead console thing just wouldnt sound right, nor do i think personally that it would look right, def in the doors or kick panels if you donth ave big feet like me lol

not sure but wouldn't an overhead console give you better imaging than the kick panels in a regular cab truck? i was also thinking about doing an overhead console in my 89 for this very same reason. i am thinking about one 6.5 in each corner by the b pillar and then 2 more between the seats on the roof. really the only way i can describe it is if you look at the green 87 s10 in februaries mini truckin mag.

I took the cups off a explorer that house them in the doors and glassed them to my kick panel then coverd them with suede.

my old Isuzu Trooper had the back speakers mounted in the roof.

And Maztang, the first thing I thought of when he mentioned the overhead speakers was the green S10 in MT. Not sure if I would like the speaker blasting directly into my ear.

I'm more than happy with my 4s in the dash and the 6x9s behind the seats.

think of it this way mike, on your headunit you can always fade them out for less sound but cant fade them in and get as much sound as to rght besie you. ill go look at the green dime. anyone have mounting ideas? -bf

could someone scan that and pst it for me? thanks -bf

You want the speakers to be equal lenghts apart from your ears, or at least as close to it as possible, by putting them in the roof you will have them really close to one side and really far from the other, if you put them in the corners that is....and if you put them in the center then you will have great sound on one side of your head...and not so much on the other.
