You will have to find an ignition power switch like the one for your CD. I ran the wires up along the pillar trim and across the the front of the headliner an poked it out where the dome light is and hung the radar detector from my visor

im going to break one apart and hardwire mine into my dash and extend the detector part to my windsheild so you cant see any of it....

wow i was thinkin to hard...simply ground the ground and use the wiper fuse for it, reason being you must have the ignition on the on posisition before you ca use your wipers. just dont put so much thought into things all the time -bf

life is easier with a testlight bro!
I used one of the acc power points on my ignition switch for a few small 12v toys

Do not cut the plug off of your radar detector power cord. Most of them are only 4.5-5 volts. Just solder wire leads to the plug itself. and run the wires to a good ground and ignition. Sometimes you will have to sand or grind the outer coating of the plugs terminals to get the solder to stick. I use a bench grinder with a wire wheel at work for this. Make sure you tape up the plug after you are done.

man i cut it and have it hardwired and i havnt had one single prob with it yet. fires up at startup and shuts off when i turn it off. -bf

you say its done and working but for future purpose dont go threw all this trouble. just pick up one of these.....

and dont use the mount, just clip the cigarette lighter plug into it and connect the wire to what you want. then if you want to sell it and get another one you can easily swap it out.
