Ok,so I picked up all my stereo crap today. Couldn't afford to have the shop install it because I got a bunch of other crap to pay for so I said I'd so it myself.

Anyways,I've never hooked an amp up to speakers before,so how do I wire it up?

I have a 4 channel Kenwood amp, where I can amp 4 speakers (2 left,2 right) and 1 sub from it. Like, how do I run the wiring to amplify the speakers? I've only ever hooked up an amp to run a sub,so this is something new to me.

I got a MAX Pentivent (never heard of it) 10" 250w max 125 rms sub,and a Kenwood KAC-6402 400w amp and a Pyle amp hook up kit.

I know it's a stupid question,but I appreciate the help.

ok lets see 4 channel well theres a neg and a pos on each speaker....and on a 4 chan amp there is 2 neg and 2 pos hook up the right speaker to the channel neg and pos , then hook up the left channel with left speaker neg and pos
after that run your power from bat with a fuse block and run your rem the <blue> wire to the remon the amp and then run your ground to the body or the neg on bat....hope that helps.....make sure you have the amp set on low pass

that amp will only run your 4 speakers, it wont run 4 speakers and a sub. the rms power on that amp is 40x4 so it would put out 40 watts to each speaker, you will have to get another amp to run that sub, or only amplify two of your speakers and bridge the amp for the sub

just wire all the speakers to the fronts on the stero and just turn down and adjust all the highs and mids and lows ....then just use amp to hook up sub

12v to battery fused 6" away from battery (same size fuse as one in amp)
remote from deck to amp
rca's from deck to amp
ground to cleaned bare metal

now if i was you and i had a 4 channel amp what i would do is:
run the front speakers to the amp front side of the amp (high pass)
bridge the rear channel to the sub (lowpass)
rear speakers to the deck on rear channel (greens&purples)
get you some tweeters for front and run to front side of deck (whites&greys)

kenwood amps will run 2ohm stereo. you can run your left speakers on channel 1, both right speakers on channel 2, and bridge channels 3 & 4 to the sub. you just wont be able to fade. the other thing is that if the radio has a sub output, you need atleast 2 sets of rcas.

lol,now I realize my question was really stupid...

I found the manual for the amp and it has 2 pages with system examples.

There is:

4 channel system,with 4 speakers.

High Power 2 channel (bridged L+R speakers)

2 Channel + 1 Sub (L+R speakers,HPF), bridges sub

Tri mode - 4 speakers, 2 subs.

I guess I need to do the high power 2 ch 1 amp setup.

My HU has 2 outputs on it and a seperate sub control. I won't be able to put it together till Monday or Tuesday since my truck is in the shop for the weekend drying out so we can source my tail light short.

Hey Mike, how did the sub box turn out?
"2 Channel + 1 Sub (L+R speakers,HPF), bridges sub" sounds to me to be the correct setup. carolinasled's setup may be your best bet. I can create a wiring diagram if needed.

the guy at the stereo shop is a total dumbass. He said he started working on the box and then gave up on it because there was a wedge box in stock that according to his measurements would fit my truck. So I tried to put it in and it wouldn't go and I was like wtf,it doesn't fit and he got all pissy grabbed the box and went to put it in and it wouldn't go for him either. I told him the bottom of the box sticks out too far, because it catches on my centre console and he was like 'well just take a Dremel and shave down about 1/8" and it'll fit"

One quick question...for the speakers that will be amped,do I leave those speakers wired up to my HU like they are,and run seperate wire from the amp to the speakers? Or do I disconnect them from the HU and only run wire from the amp to the speakers? Immortal,I may ask for your assistance by providing me with a wiring diagram.

...I know that has to be a stupid question.

Thanks again guys.

For the speakers that will be amplified you need to disconnect them from your head unit and only run them from the amplifier.
