This is for DevB to install the video system. Its an easier reference than an email and other members might get something out of it.
1. Remove gauge cluster bezel, heater control bezel, glove box door, glove box inner housing, radio housing.
2. Set your vent control to defog/lower and the other to fresh air.
3. Remove your vent control and air selection controls. Be careful not to change your previous selections by pulling the wires.
4. You will have to cut back the plastic vent tubing about 2 inches. Make a clean even cut. Cut a peice of plastic to fit over the hole and hot glue it in. This will stop the loss of heat behind the dash.
5. Make a small slice in the dash structure beside the heat selector as shown in the photo below. The yellow arrows mark the start and the finish of the cut and the red line shows the path. This is the only cut that you will have to make.
6. Check to see if the monitor now slides in the slot. The opposite side should fit perfectly in a notch and hold the monitor straight (marked by green arrow in the next image).
7. The notch on the right side will set your vertical standard. Now using a 1/8" drill bit, drill the 2 holes circled in red (see next image). The holes are already in the monitor mounting bracket so just mark them and drill.
8. Now remove everything and find the monitor board (green circuit board). Carefully slide the board behind the dash structure keeping the pink and white wires and connector at the top (circled in Blue), the remote eye (marked by the green arrow) and the ribbon cable un obstructed.
9. Take the black wire (looks like RJ45 or eithernet connector) and route it to where the glove box was.
10. now using the screws provided or the factory screws that you took out of the heater control bezel, screw them through the dash structure (factory holes)and into the monitor boards plastic housing (factory holes circled in red)
11. Now plug the pink and white wires and connector into the monitor. Then slide the ribbon cable into the monitor as well.
12. Slide the monitor into the slice that you created earlier and screw it in with the silver screws that were provided.
Now the hard part is done, which isn't really hard.
13. Find the "brain" for the monitor (black box). Plug the video cable that was provided into the video 1 RCA plug. Plug the power connector in also.
14.You can now mount it behind the where the glove box was. There should be tubing for your heating system there. You will find that there in a perfect spot for it to sit. First plug in the black wire that comes from the monitor(looks like RJ45 or eithernet connector).Attach it with some 2 way tape or hot glue. A zip tie around it when your done is not a bad idea.
Alright I'll finish this tomorrow. Don't worry images will be up shortly. My pic hosting site just went down.
