Dash and instrument lights

My dash lights and environmental control lights don't come on right away when I turn my lights on. Instead they take awhile and then gradually get brighter. Dimmer switch?

weird. sounds like it could be the dimmer switch.

Everyone knows these trucks have fantastic electrical systems...

yep I would guess the dimmer switch....if you don't have it plugged in you won't have any dash lights just fyi

Hahahahaha..........I have never seen such a shitty wiring system in a vehicle before, especially the lighting circuit. The only one that shorts out, doesn't work, blows a bulb daily. The day that all of my lights and signals work is the day that I will sell the truck, so its mine for a long ass time.

And how are you suposto be able to turn on the high beams? Forward on the arm? I can flash them but when the arm is forward all of my lights go out. hahaahha...shit

Ya I put a jumper wire in the plug for the dimmer switch today and wa la! I have dash lights! It was the dimmer switch. I don't need to dim my dash lights and never found a reason to, so im just going to leave the jumper in place:)
