Danm now that is a question and you are going to get a hell of alot of different answers as everyone has they're own taste in audio equipment.

I was told by a shop today that the kicker CVT 12 is the best in a single cab.

First you have to understand that a shop is going to tell you the best option THAT THEY SELL in your budget. What amp are you running? Is it a single battery system? Are you using a cap? What volts are the preouts on your head unit? These are all factors in determining what will be the best option for your subwoofer selection.

IN MY OPINION and I clearly state IN MY OPINION if you are running an average system (4 volt preouts, mono amp, 1 fared cap, etc) in a single cab you should stick to 8's and 10's. The space behind the seats in a Mazda with the back wall are a bitch to fit boxes behind/in between. If your not spending a ton of cash on a fiberglass box then your choices are limited. If you want to be able to keep the seats all the way back then you need to go with a slim 10". My choices would be the following:

1.Clarion PFW1051
2.Pioneer TS-SW2541D

I used to install kicker and only used the slim sub once (a rep brought it in to see what we thought of it) and stuck with the Pioneer after becauce we didn't like it. I didn't install clarion but always liked them and think that there a very underrated product. I have seen and heard a clarion demo at a friends shop and was very impressed.

Personally I would go with 2 8". You have many different box options and when people ask you where the 12's are you can just smile. Run 2 Image Dynamics ID8D4 V.3 which can be bought for about $75 each new on eBay. You won't regret it and thats my choice and my opinion.

put a shell on and make your truck a blow threw, and then put like 10 15's or something, that should be pretty loud i think

I say take out the passanger seat and throw 2 Kicker L7s in there.

Hahaha....loud is not always better. For as many mazda's that I've done stero's in the best setup that I've found in a regular cab on a budget is this:

1. Use 4, 4" 2 way speakers in the factory locations powered by the head unit for fill.

2. A good component set (recommend Hertz low line for budget and the best sound for your buck). Mount the set in your door panels with the tweeter as close to the mid for imaging.

3. 2 8" or 10" as recommended above.

4. One 2 channel amp for the component set and a monoblock w/cap for the sub/s.

5. Head Unit with minimum 4 volt preouts

6.4 GA wiring (what goes in comes out) and 2 GOOD sets of RCA's

7. Single battery with stock alternator (recommend Optima, helps the sh#tty stock alternator)

money isnt a factor (obviously not too outrageus) and ill ride with the seat all the way forward. ive actually been doin it just to see how it was and to get used to it
