I have 2 10" kicker s10l5's and a sony amp. I have an ext can b2000. The subs need .66-1.00 cubic foot volume enclosure. I was thinking about just making a simple square enclosure that takes up the whole back cab (54x18x15) with 1 sub on each side and the amp mounted on top of the box with dividers giving each sub 1 cubic foot of volume. I was also thinking of making that same design but slanting the face of the box a little to point the subs up. These designs seem good to me but just not as interesting. I dont have much experience with fiberglass so I kind of want to avoid i for now. If you can give me any ideas or pics of a good box set up for an ext cab truck i would be much obliged.

Thanks, Ian

Moounting the sub inverse you can loose up to 3 db. Also double check that you are using inside dimensions for your airspace and if you mount the woofers regularly you account for subwoofer displacement. Use at least 3/4 inch MDF with a double face (1 1/2" face) with bracing.

The dimensions that you give will make the box 8.4375 cubic feet. Even with dividers its a waste of space and with those dimensions I don't think that it will work.

L X W X H = Volume

i can make dividers to create the right volume. but you are right about it being a waste of space. i just want some ideas about design

never do a "square" design you need an angle somwhere for the sound to reflect off of, you dont want it bouncing back into the speaker creating distortion

Yes the best "box" is actually a sphere. In my experience a slight angle on the face of a box does make a difference. After you build the box you can also spray some Canadian Tire rubberized undercoating inside the entire box.

Here's one that I did at the beginning of this year. It used 2 boxes, angled faces with an inverse mount. The amps, batteries and fues holders are mounted in the middle with cover panels used over the entire thing. The cover panels are held in using pre mounted T-nuts. The pics are shitty and half done but you get the idea.

never heard of the rubberized stuff, good call

this is what I did for 2 10's. keep in mind its the first time I've ever made anything like this.

I wanted to have some storage so i made a 'chest' type thing in the middle.

Lol, I like the chest idea!

I dunno if you even care, but I just made a box with an amp rack on top and whatnot... Not really fancy, but just something to think about, maybe?

Before window tinting, you can see it is the same height as the window...

Cool thing about it, my amps light up, and thats all you can see through the tint at night.

I've got a much less "cool" design, but its for two 10's and I am still able to use the back passenger side seat. This box has the upwards angle that slammedyota91 talked about...
