SO I might attempt to do my own door panels, Well I can do them but I want some type of design in them the stock plain look just doesn't appeal to me so my question is

How hard is it to keep it seamless?

What kinda material do you use to make the actual design

I am useing black tweed by the way

Thanks guys

i just made plain basic ones...but id like to redo them one day. i used "hardboard" but anyways, you should make this into a tech when you get ready to do them. -bf

SierraX wrote a tech on building doorpanels. I think that should answer most of your questions.

Vinyl is very easy to work with. Here are pics of the panels I took off my truck....

Depending on the design you go with, the black tweed should work pretty well. I covered the entire floor of an S-10 with purple tweed - now thats some contours. Best suggestion I can make would be to use contact adheasive from Menards. Apply to both surfaces and allow to dry. Then apply one to the other. Just be careful as once they are pressed together, thats it. In the past I have used a few pieces of news paper between the door panel and the fabric (remember, the glue is dry and the news print will slide).

depending on your climate i'd make them out of abs plastic and use 808 spring clips to attach them to your truck. you can take your door panels off as many times as you'd like without damaging them at all.

hey man, i didn't notice it at first when i started on my door panels but the door has a slight curve to it. just remember that when you do your panels. mine are going to be all wood, stained to match the bed floor and cab floor.
