subs between the seats

i'm planning on making a sub box that goes between my front seats. the sub will face down and the box will also act as a armrest (maybe with cup holders ) anyways, i was wondering what size i should use. i'm pretty sure that 12 is too big so its gonna be 10 or 8. but i'm not sure if 10 will be small enough. what do you guys think?

Me personaly I would run a couple nice quality 8's if I was in situation.

ya i think i'll do that. it will be a lot easier to build the box with 8s and still have good room.

2-8s. I've seen an isobaric bandpass box with a pair of HX2 8s between the seats, and it banged pretty loud.

I used to have four audiobahn 8's behind the seat a few years ago in my tan mazda, it hit pretty hard I was surprised.

i like that but thats not what i'm trying to do. my subs are gonna be hidden. i want to make it look like theres only a center console for an armrest/cupholder.

Two nice 8''s will pound very well in such a small truck. Find out how much air space you need and then build the box with at least 2''s between the subs and the floor or the back wall.
This website is a huge help with designing your box (it's got a great volume calculator) .
I would recommend a ported enclosure if space allows to get a little more bottom end out of the 8"s. If the subs are facing rear and down you could run the port out the front straight towards the shifter. This would probably give you the best boom for your buck.
