ignition wiring

the ignition switch in my truck is broke and i bought an universol starter switch from autozone but have no clue how to wire it up please help thanks in advance oh and on another note im going to build a sheet metal dash so i really dont wont to keep the stock switch anyways

thanks alot but what i need is what wires do what that are solered to the back of the ignition switch itself like like battery, acc., starter, etc.

some where on here in a "Tech" is the wiring diagram for these trucks.Or buy a Chiltons.It has the diagram.And if all else fails I have a new Maz key set with all the ignition,door and fuel door locks I will sell u.BJ

the wires are as follows.......
black is constant (battery)
black/yellow is starter
black/white is ignition
black/red is second ignition
blue is accessory

thanks thats helps alot! but the 2 ignition wires is what confuses me now. on the back of the univ. starter switch there are four post acc., batt., starter, ignition. what wire would i put where

i would hook up the ign and ign2 wires together and the run the other wires to their respective spots.

Dude...go get a new switch. Please. Unless the locks are broken....

eh, well. I'd incorporate the stock switch into the metal dash, seen it done twice, and the metal housing really brought it out.
