I have a 87 B2000, when I picked it up the ignition would allow the truck to start but you would have to find the "sweet spot" in the on postion in order for it to stay running. So I picked up a new mazda tumbler setup and it starts but will not stay running. It still has the same problem, Anybody have any clues as to what it might be? Thanks

Need a new switch. Mine did that. I had to take my column apart, and drive home holding 2 tools accross it to complete the circuit. Try steering, and shifting with ur left hand, and ONLY ur left foot....

Yeah, autozone, switch. NOW. No lock, just the switch.

Mine was MUCH cheaper, I think in the $60 to $70 range.

So your saying wire in a aftermarket universal switch? I wish would of asked earlier, I just dropped 65 bucks for a new Mazda one.

The switch? is that the plastic part that screws into the tumbler with the wires soldered to it? Im green when it comes to Mazda's so any advice is greatly appreciated. thanks

Uh, no. Brand new, stock replacement.

Yea from what you say you changed out the keyed part which will have nothing to do with your problems. you will need the plastic part to fix the problem

Thanks for clarifying what I have already discovered, thanks though.
