right now ive got a rockford p1 (150w rms) being pushed with a rockford p200-2 amp (200w rms). it was my first system and on sale real cheap but after a year i want to upgrade to something more. im needing some opinions on what sub to get. my budget for the sub would be around $300 no more. looking at anywhere from 400w-800w. just want something with more pound to it and that would sound nice in a sealed box.

best bang for the buck Kicker SoloBarics... i have 2 12" L7s and they pound.... but i do have 2000watts going to them.... HiFonics Brutus mono amp wired at 1ohm

I agree with dev. RE is real good stuff from what Ive seen. FI has some pretty nasty subs too.

ill look into that. i was playing around with my amp today changing the settings. got it a bit louder and cleaner but want to know what frequency i should run. right now its at i think 40hz and on low pass. before both knobs where full and it was on all pass and sounded alittle disorted

you are talking about a 10" sub i presume... to fully adjust your amp correctly... set your radio on the volume level you normally listen to ( or 3/4 full volume) turn all amp settings to the lowest position. after seting volume adjust your gain until you just hear distortion. then back it down a 1/4 turn. then adjust your other settings until it sounds like you want it. doing it this way will keep you from
a. over powering your sub and blowing it
b. having your truck sound like ass by not having the amp set correctly
c. you will know you can turn it up and it will sound good no matter what.
personally re or fi are great subs... i prefer premier by pioneer. they handle 500w rms and 1000w max. they are a great all around sub and arent really expensive either.

i have 4 8" re8's in a sealed truck box off a sundown saz-1500 and it BANGS.. HARD!

kickers are really good in large ported enclosures, and he wants s ealed box, so i would say no go on kicker

elemental designs makes great subs to
their 6.5" subs are 65 ea and do 300 rms
they aree samll, so get 4 of those of the ed nINE.1 amp (1200 UNDERRATED watts) for 250 and youll have GREAT sq but still beat down the block =]

so in a nut shell
i suggest 4 8" re audio RE8's (a piar goes for 100)
or 4 6.5" ed eu7000 subs (140 for the pair)

OR better yer.. digital designs makes 8" subs thta do 450 ms ea.. they are expensive thoug, 130 sucks ea..

but still for the wattagem not bad

i currently have 1 premier tssw1241d shallowmount sub running off of a 4 ch audiobahn amp along with 2 premier 6.5" 4 way speakers. i think my amp outs out about 300w rms.
i got the 2 front channels running the 6.5's and the rear 2 ch bridged to the sub. the sub is rated at 350 rms 1400max but i think i have about 150 watts going to it and it bangs... gets down hard on most songs but is set for sq... but will drop when necessary.
i'm adding another 12" and possibly 2 8" flat subs up front when i redo the audi in a few months... i'm setting it up for sq and maybe light spl.... but i only have a std cab so space is at a premium.
the new premier ice amps are ALL DIGITAL AND HAVE 0.00% DISTORTION.
and they are ralatively small 7x11x2.5 so it can fit most anywhere.
12" premier flat subs run 129.00
10" run 119.00
the 8" are 109.00

add 20-30 for retail pricing but thats what i pay for them... if you want them... thats the price plus shipping... lmk.
