Hey guys, I have had this problem FOREVER. What is everyone doing with their antennas when they shave them? I am hopelessly adicted to radio (morning music, afternoon talk and traffic reports from the AM stations) and for work I drive a lot. 3 to 4 hours daliy. I hasn't been a problem for me before because the roadster is in the garage most of the time and when I cruise it I listen to my CDs. The roadster has one of those powered "hidden" antennas which IMO works like I have tried three different "recommended" brands, but they are all vastly inferior to the stock antenna mast. The reason this post comes about though, Is I am planning on driving the "new" Mazda daily and it too has a shaved antenna. I haven't investegated what they did with the antenna on this one, but it has varying reception. Sometimes its good, but then a block later static. I am thinking of putting a power antenna off of a MX6. I heard that they are a direct replacement for our stock ones. I just don't want to drill a hole in my fender. Does any one have any ides that work? I heard you can take a stock style antenna and zip tie it under the dash. Does this work? Please HELP audio gurus!
