Just a quick little question here..
Im always looking to get a little more out of my headlights.

Right now, I have 55/100 watt bulbs in. They are relayed using 30 amp relays, and 14 (?..could be 12..been a while)ga wire...which eventually goes to my Racinglab harness, and then to the headlights. They're in a Bosch housing.

Im thinking about picking up some 50 amp relays, and redo my wiring...Im going to be putting in some Hella 500's anyhow, so might as well get 2 birds stoned at once.

My question is...will i have any issues with blowing bulbs running that many more amps?...will there even really be much gain? let me know what ya figure. thanks

bigger fuses are not needed. you are running 55/100 watt healights so that breaks down to: 9 amps lows & 17 amps highs.

and then 9 amps fogs
that would total:

19 amps lows/fogs
26 amps highs/fogs

so with any combination you are under 30 amp draw unless something shorts.

I would recommend leaving the head lights alone & adding the fogs with their own relay.

* bigger fuse will not juice up lights. they will take what they want.

Just run one relay per headlight. Bosch style SPST relays are rated at 30A. At 12v that'd give you enough current to run 360W of light. That's a LOT of light.
