$ should be fine if you back up your whole system to match. Nice mids and highs. Don't smother everything with the bass. Make it nice and smooth and precise. Plus if done right you should have some sort of control over the output of the subs and will be able to punk the little ricers when they think there stuff rocks.

Sounds like you got the right idea bro just sound deaden the hell out of your truck and buld it to with stand a bomb. I did one of my ext. cabs years ago with 6 12" w-6's and had to double the sound deadening to make sure there was no rattles anywhere. Worked great and the truck servived for awhile but jmzcustoms has a point don't just make it a SPL vehicle have the option and control to do both SPL and sound Q.

i havent had a system yet i though was too loud i could flex the windsheild of my civic and it still wasnt loud enough for me. im not gonna make it straight for spl i just want it loud so i can aggravate my neighbors when i leave for work before they all get up....lol. plus i plan on enough mids and highs to make up for it and im gonna get a new radio with seperate sub controls like in my tow pig

yeah man the goal I found back in the day is to find a nice soundtrack....now don't go thinking I am gay an $hit but Titantic sountrack works great.... The goal shoul be to be able to stand 100yards away and feel the bass and still hear the words crystal clear. I used to run all kicker subs, and Boston mids and highs....this was in 97 though so I am not into the main brands now. But I still believe that the best systems are the ones you can throw in classical and it sounds good, throw in metal and it sounds good, throw in rap and it sounds good, and hell even throw in country and well you got it by now. Good luck and post some damn pics of the build when you start.

Sorry for your loss. Sounds like a pretty tight car and builder.

it was and the guy that done the work is still doing it but i dont deal with him anymore. he had built the engine some to and if there was anything i could have gotten off the car after the wreck was the custom plate on the front that had a chevy bow tie and said all throttle no bottle. there wasnt many cars in town that could beat it, and thats what finally got him a guy talking shit while he was driving his new saleen so he went home and got the z beat the guy then lost it before he got slowed down and hit a driveway pipe and rolled like three times throwing him from the car
