Can i run speaker wire straight from the speaker to the head unit? i dont want to use the stock wiring soo i was thinkin of just picking up some speaker wire and doing it that way.

for some reason i aint getting any sounds, i have an alpine cda 9843 and i wired the spekers with speaker wire and its not putting out any sound, any ideas

take an AA battery and touch your positive to the positive end of the battery and the negative to negative and see if you hear anything from the speakers if so it could be the outputs on your radio and if you dont hear anything check the connections on you speakers or it could possibly be your speakers

how did you connect the wire to the speakers? if you just wrapped the wire around the terminals its not going to work.... you need pushon connectors ... also you should use butt crimp connectors

to the head unit wire harness

I preffer soldier and tape. Every deck I put in is wired that way.

solder is good too..... but if you don't know how.... use the crimp connectors... also tape can be a pain in the arse in tight locations

I use bullet connectors, instead of butt crimp connectors, much faster if something needs to be moved around.
