I drew this up the other day and since I'm using a deeper 15" sub/box in my 1987 Mazda Standard Cab B2000 I was wondering if this would have a possibility of working, it's a rough sketch I know but what are your thoughts and problems I might run into?

As long as the sub box doesn't sit in the bed of the truck you should be fine. Your image shows it done proper so you should be fine. The cab and the bed will move separately, but it looks like you got it covered. Just remember the hearing protection

the only thing id say do differently would be to build a box on the back of the cab all the way accross. that gives you 2 things, 1) a cool storage place beside the sub box and 2) room in case you decide you want another 15. building the sheetmetal box on the back of the cab is a great idea so that the cab is water tight and the box doesnt get damaged from the elements. then you can just front load the box into the sheetmetal box from inside the cab. my friend did this before in his hardbody, worked like a champ.
