Rear Speakers for ex cab

Hey guys I was just wondering what the speaker size is for the rear of the extended cab trucks, is it 6 1/2 or 5 1/4? I just dont wanna have to got thru the pain of pulling those panels off without being ready to put new speakers in. Thanks

according to crutchfield.com they are 6 1/2

I thought they were smaller but I must be wrong.

hey i got 6 X 9 's back in there now... made up plywood copies of the metal speaker mount... i made 2 sets, one for some 5 1/4" rounds too, wanted to see how they would sound in there. finish panels fit back on fine too with the extra 'punch out' of the new thicker speaker bracket... i actually mounted the 6 X 9 on the inside of the mounting plates for more clearance... and yes there is just enough room/depth in the body panel. depends how huge a speaker you are going i guess.

So 6"x9"s will fit in the ext cab panel?
cause i was planing on doing that this week..
what all do i have to do to make them fit?

I would move up to a 7 or 8 inch speaker before going to a 6x9. Oblong speakers sound weird.
