subs ?

Was just wondering if anybody had any ideas about any good 12s that hit good in a sealed box for a good price iwas was thinking about some kicker comps or some cliff designs but cant decide i got 2 MTX Roadthunder 12s right now they hit good but i need a lil more

what kinda prices you talking ,there is alot of 12's out there ,and you have standard or ex cab ,?

and what kind of music do you like?? It will make a diffrence.No need to buy a dual voice coil if you just want punch. if you want roll go with the dual v/c. and the amount of power your pushing will make a big diffrence on how the speaker will preform.also i am not a big fan of sealed incloseures. If you stay with a sealed box stuff that bad boy full of some dacrone (teddy bear stuffing) it makes them hit harder. " it like fakes out the speaker on air space"Quoted for an old fart installer.That how it was explined to me. lol .kickers are good cliffs rock but the good ones get pricey.

try stuffing your box if you havnet done that yet and maybe play with your gain and bass control (ohms). and see if changeing the way you have the speakers wired like mono, parallel,seires an so on you might be able to squezze a littl emore out of them. i dont think with the roadthunders will give you what you want but it might make you a little happier while you search.

also in a truck i have never done more than 10" you get a good hard punch a nice roll and you can save on space for other cool guy stuff. Iam no pro i have a little exp in installs it been a few years things have changed but i go with what works.good luck and let us know what you go with

not trying to criticize ,but you cant change (ohms )but adjusting bass nob or gain that is hertz frequency which can lower bass or tighten bass,and yes dacron will disapate air space ,one bag is usually 1c,ft,the box built will change sound process drastically ,but knowing if its ex cab or standard makes big difference ,cause unless you do a blowthrough ,youll never fit ported in a standard cab.you also canmake any music sound good with right box ,tuned and ported or sealed .im just giving my opinion ,ive had 2 12's in my standard to 6 15's in bed

also state what power you will be running too,cause dont wanna get 500 rms subs with 4k amp you know ,and your price range will help also thanks

ok heres my .02, from plundering i see you got an ex-cab. are you wanting to keep the amp you got now? plan on re-using the same box? tell us what amp you have and we can give you a great idea on subs and enclosures. also what kind of budget? we sell several subs here at work that are great between $99 and $149.

i bought a 12" shallow sub for my 83 and i love it man. it is a pioneer premier that if i remember right handles like 1600 watts max. it is freakin sweet and it is only like 3" from where it mounts to the end of the magnet so you can mount it just about anywhere. and it hits hard as hell. in the 83s and 84s there is not near as much room behind the seats as the 86-93s so in my experience i would and will always go with a shallow sub in these little trucks man.

well i got a 700 watt rms amp bridged right now im running 2 ohms and it hits good but im just looking for a lil more as far as budget im not looking to spend much i would be keeping the same box cause i built it in the ext cab of the truck so i have 2 amp right now i can choose from my kenwood which is 1000w max mono block and the sony i had the sony pushin a L7 in an eclispie and it would give u a headache but i sold the L7 a while back so i can get a deal on some kicker comps but i was gonna ask u guys if there was anything out there taht hit a lil harder for the price and i listien to all kinds of music but mostly rap well jus hollywood undead lately
