ok so if you have seen my thread about my truck then you know i have quad red led tail lights on my mazda. the top lights function as running light and turn signal, the middle lights are still running light and brake light. what i want to do is make it so both lights on one side act as running light/ brake/turn signal. i need to find out how to wire it (if its even possible) to act like say ford ranger tail lights, easy way to give you an idea of what im goin for, think like 93 and prior rangers. step on the brakes with the left turn on and just the right side would stay fully lit, while the left side would flash. i tried connecting my turn wire, and my brake wires with a jumper, and it kind of did what i wanted to, but when i stepped on the brakes the lights stopped the turn signal and just lit up in full. not sure if i would have to dive deeper into the wiring to change this. but i think with my quad leds it would look cool if all 4 functioned as brakes and turn signal, instead of being divided between factory signal/brake lights. any help would be great!

Yeah I'm keen on this also as I have clear taillights with led bulbs behind them but would prefer if they were brighter during the day time.
I did some messing around myself and think it would have to be done with relays, using it to cancel out the earthing side of the bulbs, but that would mean sending power back to the relays if mounted at the back of the truck, which is why that was as far as I got.

i think i may have found the solution to our problems... use a 5 wire to 4 wire trailer plug, and hook up the factory wiring to the converter, and use the trailor connector end to wire into the factory tail lights... this should solve the problem.

ok so i used the 5 wire to 4 wire trailer conversion wiring kit to wire my factory harness into the converter, and the converter back into my tail lights. yes thats right i took a perfectly good, brand new fresh out the box, $24 tow vehicle wiring harness for the 5 to 4 wire converter and cut it up just for a specific look with my tails. everything works great... except the harzards in the tail lights, unless you step on the brakes and hold them, then the harards in the back work fine. but only while you hold the brakes. i double, triple, and quadruple checked my wiring, its pretty idiot proof and nothin seems to be wrong. on the factory harness i have only the reverse light, and the neg wire for the reverse light hooked up. everything else is hard wired thru the trailer side of the where the trailer 4way flat plug would have been. except the brake/running light/turn signals grounds. they have fresh grounds directly to the body of the truck.

way too complicated for me! I just let my husband do the wiring on my truck

okay so what I can gather, you have it functioning were both bulbs per side come on as turn or brake light...right?

but the issue is hazards, were the logic adapter you bought is over loaded some of them can't handle triple input....i.e. both turns and brake light. it's possible one adapter per side should remedy this, cause the logic box would have one less input and should remain functioning.

or simply enough the brake light wires are back feeding to the turn switch, causing your problem. maybe a diode on each turn input would cancel out the backfeed. and do you still have the old style flasher unit plugged into the turn signals, or did you swap to a digital replacement.

what? you lost me. all i did was go to schucks and pick up a 5wire to 4 wire trailer light harness adapter. they should work. by all logic and reasoning according to if i had u-haul wire it they would have done nothing different. except that i wired the trailer side back into my tail lights. it just doesnt make sense as to why my hazards dont work without the pressing of the brake pedal.
