Hey, I may sound like a complete knob, But i was wondering what the little Black box is under my driver's side kick panel. I have a b2600 4x4 auto. tran. if that makes any difference. Can it be mounted elsewhere rather than under my kick panel. I can't mount a speaker if it's there. I thought it might have something to do with the started. Does anyoen know?

Thanks for your help.

ive done alot of mazda kickpanels ,and my mind was wundering with same question ,becuase the vehicle i was working on had a raised kickpanel on drivers side when it was a b2000 ,i found out they hid the door popper brain under it ,im curious what goes there too?

im pretty sure that's the ECU, you know the Elf Control Unit. it keeps the elf in your engine happy so he makes lots of power.

i'm, pretty sure it is the ecu/computer. my truck is efi, so it may be different if your's is carbed, but mine has quite a few wires running to it.
You could reloacte it, but you'd have to make all the wires long enought to move it around, which wouldn't be fun.

Alright, Well I'll See what I can do. I may just endup leaving the kickpanels the way they are and then mounting my speaks in some custom door panels.

The ecu is behind the kick panel on the passenger side. Theres relays and stuff on the drivers side. Take a pic of what your talking about, thatll help identify what your talking about.

I think i'm just gonna scrap the Kick Panel idea and just make some door panels with speaker mounts. Wrap the interior in tweed and maybe get a custom console made.
