in my opinion if u can find a 3 way comp set w a 4'' and tweet along w a 6.5'' driver this would be ideal . you could mount the 4 and tweet in kicks and put the 6.5 in the doors so that they are in an enclosure to achive good midbass which could be nearly doubled if u were to deaden the doors.i would bi amp this set up to gain more control of your stage.again this is just my opinion.i like when people help me w my questions so i am trying to help also.
I am heading out tomorrow to look for a better soundstage....not enough front, rear is MEH....what I have in there for now sounds ok (anything was batter than blown paper speakers! HAHA!)
if your going to get any speakers that are worth the money.
the only options are morel and focal. and for subs, RE audio.
check out the focal access 165A1 component. like 130 on ebay. and very good speakers.
look there is no definitive line on what speaker is better than the other... the reason i say thins is that there is no 2 ear out there that is the same. some one might have a defency at 3k and you might have one at 5k or 12k or what ever. so it's really hard to answer this question due to this fact. now for my ear i like the boston acoustics sx series on radio power... even better on amp power.
if you are going to bi-amp a system please make sure you have a processor that you can tune with. bi-amping is great but if you are going to go that far you might as well tune it too.... so it sounds the best it can....
i found an old set of boston pro 3 way component set up for the front stage in the truck, probably gonna look for a pair of 8's for the front floor (or 10's behind the seats) and a snug top so i can run 4 or 8 12's in the bed... gonna build a center console for the amp rack. and then put the 6.5's in the doors and the 4's in the kick and the tweets in the a-pillar. prolly run ZED Audio amps with burr-brown processors built in. or ZAPCO amps( digital reference)
