I bought an '86 B2000 yesterday for a daily, trying to fix up loose ends from 23 years of use and likely non-user friendly owners. Trying to fix the a/c and I think I traced the problem to the blower motor. I used a test light to trace all the wires to the a/c system and it seams the motor is getting power and ground. Is this a common problem with the a/c system?

the blower motor generally does get power and ground. thats how it works.

i'm a little confused. what is your problem? does it blow air? does it blow cold? what is going on? you dont really say so we cant really help you out very much.

n/m. I'll just continue to diagnose the problem myself. I didn't state the a/c didn't blow at all, I suppose thats my fault.

ok. well then i would make sure that the motor is getting enough power. i know my blower motor went out but i didnt know because i saw that it was still getting power. so i would pull the motor and try to see if you can get it to spin. if it doesnt then you know the motor is bad.

i already ordered the new motor, it was only $30.

fixed it. Blower motor was COMPLETELY seized. Got the new one for $30 and it blows cold... I'll get it recharged tomorrow.
