the alpine that i have slid in fine without problems from the airduct. my pioneer stuck out about a inch. i wrapped it with electrical tape so no one could tell it.

i've heard that you can get a heat gun and heat the air duct up enough to where its pliable, so then you can push the deck back far enough as you need into the airduct

I just picked up a spare dash, gonna make sure to cut the metal brackets out before it goes in.

ive seen a few guys install the deck. cut the hole in the air vent , then come back and fiberglass the hole they cut... if that makes sence

Ya. . . Youd have to cut and refil the hole. . . You may be able to cut the part out thats in the way and then flip it over and jus silicone it back on. . You know what I mean? ? ? Like right now, the part that is in the way looks like this. . . L . . . but cut it and flip it so it looks like this. . . 7 . . . you get what I'm sayin? ? ?

nevermind. . . I jus looked at the pics again. . . that aint gonna work. . . fiberglass would be your best bet. . . Or jus suck it up and sacrifice the vents. . . idk. .

Did this to my purple truck many years back - the heat gun method worked very well IMO. Once the metal frame for the radio was installed in the trim panel and the trim panel installed in the dash, I literally stuck the heat gun thru the metal frame and warmed up the plastic air duct. When it was hot enough, I slid the head unit in (with some tape over the back of the head unit so as not to get any extra plastic where it did not belong) and let the air duct form aroud the back of the head unit.

Hope this helps.
