Kick panel enclosure advise...

I'm fixing to make my own fiberglass kick panel speaker enclosures for some Alpine type-R 5 1/4" components. I'm new to glassing also. Should I use sound dampening material, speaker baffles, rings for the holes, etc? Anybody have any advise for me before I begin? Thanks!!!

I've been reading about how to do the actual glassing, but do you guys use any kind of foam baffles or anything to 'improve' the sound. Does the fiberglass piece fit on top of the carpet/kick panel or do you make a solid back? And do you use foam baffles or stuff like dynamat? I guess I'm talking more about the logistics/installation rather than the actual procedure of the glassin'.
