im in the middle of a body drop/bag job on my 87 reg cab. i was getting ready to pull the dash to start the BD but before i reinstall the dash i was going to paint it. is there any certain way to do this or just scuff it and paint it. im new to body work but i do have a good friend who does it. any info would be great thanks

me personally ,scuff it the best you can ,get some adhesive promoter from 3m or sem ,then after wards lay resin on it ,then after that sand smooth ,and primer and spray ,there alot more work than that ,but it will fall all into place

i'd sand it a little with some 320 to knock down the texture, then scuff till there's no shiny spots left, then spray a high build primer, and sand it again till its smooth. re-prime and sand as necessary and then spray your favorite color. or, you can just spray that krylon fusion paint directly on it. that stuff is actually pretty rad. my buddy painted his hardbody interior pieces with it and it turned out real nice.
