i did this in my old reg cab when i put late 80s prelude buckets in mine. didnt even bolt them down... sat right on the floor behind the hump with the seat backs against the back wall... felt like i was riding on the floor... it was AWESOME!!!... that was like my little full size go kart... i miss that truck... lol

i bolted a factory bench in mine and it fits great. im also 6'0 with no issues. i do have a tilt column which helps the nut area.

I did the same when I was running the prelude seats, but mine were bolted to the floor, behind the mounting hump.

yea my bench is sittin on the floor but it is not bolted doesnt move at all kinda iffy with buckets tho i would atleast bolt the back mounts to keep em from tipping over on those 120 mph mario andretti turns and those break neck take offs
