Ok im getting ready to tear down my truck for the winter and i want to fabricate some door panels, but i dont have a clue on how to even get started. I want to wrap them in vinyl just like my sub box, with kind of the same designs and everything. I also want to mount my speakers back into the door or should i mount them in the kick panel? Any and all help is appreciated.

Thanks!

For the door panels, you could use foam and spray adhesive. You can make all kinds of cool patterns and designs out of foam. If you're well versed in glassin' that it may be easier to make some door pods because there is a lot of work in making kicks. But whatever you feel man; that's just my $.02.

If your planning to use your stock door panels, its easy to cover them. When you go to get the material most upolstery places have spray glue in stock. i recommend using what they have as i found the 3m stuff is good but not the best.I used tweed on my panels and was extremely easy to work with.I did not remove the old door panel material.I sprayed the glue on the door paned, and the back side of the fabric.I wated a minute or so to let the glue tacl a little. Then i pu the material on started from the middle and worked outward, smoothing ot out. When cuttong the holes for the door handle and window crank, i cut X's and pulled them to the back of the panel and glued them there.hopes this helps

in my opinion ,trace your factory door panel ,make a replica out of 1/8th inch mdf ,,order some weldwood glue from your autotrim.com .go to a paint supply and grab some new door panel clips ,for like .10 a piece .why reuse your factory panels ,build some new ones ,takes 1 hour re foam them and wrap them ,if you respray over top of the old vinyl ,if the old vinyl lifts ,the new vinyl is gonna ,trust me dont short cut it bro

Ok so i have the panels that wrap around the top of the door. Should i just cut out the square for the bottom piece of the door panel without the top of the wrap? Thanks for all the help guys. I really want to start this today! haha. How thick of foam do i use? does it just depend on how far i want the design to stick out? is there another place i can get the glue? You guys are a big help!

i wouldn't cut the panels down dude. sell them to someone else that doesn't have them. like sosa said make new ones if you want em to just be the square ones under the door frame.
