I was wondering how much free space there was behind them, if any. I picked up a set of pioneer speakers with a mounting depth of 1 5/8" and I was hoping I could just cut and mount, no glassing.

i doubt you will have enough room. the driver side ones mounts practically flat to the cab, and the passenger side one has the ECU behind it.

Just pulled one off, had to check my fuel pump relay anyway, and no. I will have to glass it. Thanks guys.

unless you convert to a weber than you pull the ecu cuz you wont need it.

Its a 93 2200 FI, I was always told the only way to convert it to a weber was to change the head...

if you dont move the computer on pass side ,it wont fit ,but you can move the comp.up under the dash ,get f,i ones that are about 2"thick then mount ,if that dont fit just cut a ring out of mdf ,glue screw, mudd ,and wrapp you can have them done in about 2 hours
