ok I just bought my Mazda and so far its great. Its been raining here nonstop for two days and I went to go move it and I noticed a small leak from what I guess is the rain from the front window and also it feels a little wet through the floor mats. What can I do to fix this problem?

mine leaks too, mine comes from behind the dash on the firewall somewhere. so your's may be the same spot.

mine leaks into the ducting for the heater from somewhere, little annoying when its raining and i turn on the heat and i can hear water splashing around then comes leaking out onto the floor (luckily for me it leaks to the passenger side).

My Jeep cherokee did the same thing I took a small flat blade screw driver and lifted the corner of the rubber windshield trim, wrapped a rag around a butter knife and dipped it in simple green cleaner and slowly ran the knife back and forth the length of the window trim to clean out any debris present. Then after it dried I use black permatex with a very small hole in the tip pried up the rubber again and inserted the tip of the permatex and slowly laid down a very small bead beneath the rubber trim and the forward most section of the roof line. If you are careful there will not be any excess squeeze out. have not had an issue since. Last year we broke the windscreen and had to get it replaced. When the tech removed the rubbber molding the permetex came with it. no issues. The jeep had been in a wreck before we received it, Im thinking that that is where the leak had come from

Just because your not the only one does mean you should live with it. If there is water then there will be rust in your floors down the road. I would track it down and fix it. Chitobeach has a good idea for those vehicles with rubber seals for the windshield, but our trucks are sealed in with windshield adhesive. If the adhesive wasn't put on well or has loosened up in a spot you could be getting a leak there, or it could be behind the dash on the firewall as someone else mentioned. Either way the easiest way to find it is to go out on a good weather day and sit in your truck while someone else runs a hose(low pressure, no need to blast it in). You should see the water coming in at whatever point it is leaking. If this doesn't help you find it then I would have the windshield removed and reinstalled and make sure you tell them why you are doing it. The glass shops will make sure they do a more thorough job of spreading the adhesive if they know there is a problematic history. It is ussually only $35-$40 to have this done too. Good luck and keep us posted. -Ed
