Repeatedly blowing "Meter" fuse

I've had several issues this week with my 91 B2600i - 4x4.

First, the blinkers started acting up. Sometimes they would work fine, other times both lights would blink (dash and outside) when I would switch either signal on.

Now, nothing works. My blinkers don't blink at all. My temp gauge doesn't work. My tachometer doesn't move. My in dash clock went out. My cruise control light doesn't come on, nor does the 4x4 light on the dash, or on the RFW switch.

I checked all of the fuses. Sure enough, the fuse labeled METER was blown. I replaced that and everything seemed to be working fine for about 10 seconds, then the same fuse blew. I replaced it again, and it blew again.

It seems as though I have a short somewhere.
Does anyone have a suggestion as to where I should begin looking??

Much appreciated,
Maxda

obviously id first look behind the dash. trace all the wires make sure none of them have warn a bare spot. does the truck have an alarm or auto start or anything aftermarket wired in under the dash? id check those things if that applys

I found a burnt up Reese trailer lights converter box. I cut that out... and now, it seems to be working without fail. Thanks for the reply, Dawg. I'll keep you posted.
