I like the sound of this calculator, how would you need it to work? Say you define the volume and let it calculate the volume on the fly until the specified volume is reached?

There are lots of professional ones out there and a few you can download. All the ones I have ever downloaded kinda suck. The real good ones even give you cut lists for the material. The ones I had just gave you a cubic feet needed and port size and length. You had to sit there and play with different ideas to see what would work.

I figured one of the guys on here would already have a good one or maybe point me to one.

For a starting point I like to use the reference and calculator on the Rockford website.

Also the JL audio website has a good tutorial.

Also the12volt forum has lots of good info. I always go here when researching.

You guys are going to make me work for it? Dang that sucks. I was hoping someone would say "you need x cubic feet of box and y port size".

Well the son isn't ready to give up the space he needs to make these really work. So I guess we will put the slim kenwood 12" in.

hunter I have 2 of those and 2 of these to push them.

Not sure if this is what your looking for but here's what I know. Take the width x hieght x depth and divide by 1728 and you get your air space. Make sure and subtract the displacement of the speaker magnet (housing). example 17" x 17" x 12" divided by 1728 = 2.00 cu ft. I know thats not enough for a 15" sub but you get the idea. Hope this helps some!!! I'm not sure though on figuring out the port length for tuning. I had a 6 cu ft box for my 3 JL 12's and the ports were 19.25" long each (2) and that was tuned at 34hz. Maybe one port that size and a 3 cu ft box for one 15 might be a good number?? Please let us know when you do find out!!

I know how to figure the cubic feet and such(I is achually reallies smart). I just don't have the programs anymore to find out what the sub "wants" for size and stuff.

Nothing on eclipse website? Or maybe ask a reputable stereo shop. Glad yous is reallys smart!! Lol I've heard right about 3 cu for a 15" sub. Hope you get the answer your looking for!
