I searched, and found some similar problems, but not quite what I'm looking for.

Drivers window. rolling down is easier than up. when rolling up, i have to grab the top of the window glass, and rock it towards the back of the door to get it to go all the way up...(basically til i pinch my fingers, then i can force the crank for the last inch)

took off door panel.

i sprayed the cables on the regulator with white lithium grease. Now it seems easier to move, but still choppy. From halfway down to full down, it rides straight and smooth. Above halfway up, it starts to wobble and gets harder to crank. With window down, bolts holding window to regulator seem tight enough.

Front window track broke its weld off by the bolt near the bottom.
What else holds the front track in? i couldn't get it to wiggle out,
Does anyone know what the tracks are made of?
i figure my 1st option is get the track out, have the tab welded back on.
see if that keeps window straight. If not that, new front track.

I don't wanna assume the regulator is bad cause it does go up and down. just not fully sure why it wobbles after halfway up...
any ideas?

I haven't looked at my windows in a loooong time, but i am sure your problem is the broken track. I think the front one is held in by two bolts. one on the bottom and one on the top. I would go to a junk yard and grab another rail, rather than try to weld the one you have. Hopefully the extra pressure of the window hasn't damaged your regulator.

um, i can't find a second bolt... just see the one on the lower portion of the door skin... thats the one with the broken tab, but i couldnt seem to shimmy the channel down and out... upper bolt hiding somewhere?

i've actually just encountered the same problem this morning, must be a mazda thing, my rx7 has the same problem the other day, idk if the b-series has a window to glass clip or retainer i guess im going to have to look at it, unless you've figured out what was going on with yours

went there, under the collision catalog... "guide channel" front and rear $23 total

ordering today, so i'll let you know how they work out...

they no longer stock rear guide channels...

top of window frame was bent in, smashing the top of the channel

old front channel:

pulled the doorskin out, put new channel in.

i had a new regulator to put in while i was in there, but the new part was seized up, so return/reordered, lubed the shit out of the old regulator with white lithium.

either white lithium, or a non bent channel helped, but not problem solved

window still wobbles a bit... at full down, it rocks forward, then also full up, window nose dives forward again... like something at either end of travel snags...
but, i no longer have to hold the top of the window and shimmy it up to close it... one handed operation, but somethins still off
passenger side seems to do about the same thing. just catches at a few random points and tilts the window forward or back.
greased both regulator cables, and up and down the rubber channel seals.

somethin is still off... i'll repost after i get another new regulator to try.
shit is just weird though. no obvious signs of why.
