Head Unit relocation?

WOW!! I attempted to relocate my head unit up in the dash under the air vents.....there is A LOT of trimming involved!!! I got all the way up to the point where you actually fit the head unit into the dash, there is a big metal framing support piece in there and my head unit just barely doesn't fit. I'm not really excited about hacking my truck up that much :( Does that have to be cut for the completion of the relocation?

yes you need to cut that out..

I just started cutting the metal bracket out, but it appears the Head Unit still hits the plastic air duct back there. How do you guys deal with that? Do you cut the air duct?

I put the head unit in the glove box. I had air gauges where your putting yours. It was no problem with the remote it came with other than the box had to be popped open to change anything on it. Otherwise for your question cut that metal part out and shove the h/u in there. The duct will flex enough to allow it to fit.
