you mean a blow through? through the cab and into the box?

I have seen it before where some standard cab owners have cut the hump out of the back of their cabs and welded in flat sheet metal. This will give a bit of extra space to work with when making a custom box.
It is possible for you to make a flush piece to hug the back wall, that is what I plan on eventually doing with 2 8" Dynam Accoustic subs with a Nakamichi 300 II powering it. It's a small cab so a big, high powered setup isn't necessary.
I personally wouldn't do a cut through into the box because you would #1 have to do a superb job welding or face possible moisture issues, and #2 lose part of your bed. Much more work than is necessary for non-show.

with a blow through you wouldnt weld it up. you would add a rubber seal. can be bought at most rv supply stores, or you can make your own out of large bike tubes and contact cement. you need the rubber seal for the cab and box flexing.

those jackhammers need some air space to work, a single woofer needs 1.25cubic foot box, ported would be 2 cubic foot. so getting say 2.5-4 cubic foot in the cab is not an easy task. if you want to get the most out of these subs make the box to specs and do the blow through.. my 2 cents.

im probably just going to make the box the same height as the back window or higher, and make it ported out in between the two front seats. i know for a fact with the box being ported the subs will have more then enough air going to them. but thanks for the input. if you guys got anymore ideas give me a shout.

use this site to make your box.

will help so you have the right airspace and also you will know how big of a box/airspace you can do behind your seats. the airspace in the box needs to be to the subs specs so it performs like it should, guessing or thinking that because it is ported they will have enough air wont work.
