Oops!
I think I must have looked at jimbeater's profile and saw that HE was from Canada, and goofed!
Sorry........not that being a Canadian is a bad thing now, hell I like rednecks, I'm one myself! And being Cusser's long lost brother can have it's "perks".......did I say perks? You've seen his avatar right? Oh crap, now I'm starting to not make any sense here.......kinda like Jenko, huh? Not that being Jenko is a bad thing mind you! I kinda like those down under accents in the movies..............oh forget it!

So I've got a long-lost technology-hindered "cousin" - that's good !!!!
But see this thread, I've updated to the 1990s.

Hey, quit knockin' on Mrs. Cusser's knockers !!! Mrs. Cusser was a little smaller when I met her, and she was good at hidin' what she had. She still typically hides them (bigger now after having kids). They're real, and darn good for her age.
But she doesn't share them with anyone but me.

Brrrrrrrrromsky !!!

@ MercilessLTD,

I would try it first with the four 4 inch speakers setup.
I don't know the output wattage of your player if it can handle the bazooka tube tapped with the rear speakers.

Does the bazooka tube have separate left and right connectors?

Don't blame me for Axel and Cusser, I'm just the spectator

Yes, i believe it does, but it also has the low pass inputs where you hook the signal up with RCA connectors since it has it's own amplifier in it.

some models have a built in amp (which would be ideal in your situation), but most do not. you would be running the sub in 'full range' as opposed to the 'low pass filter', you may like the sound, you may not. it allows a lot of the mid tones through, and sometimes does not sound very good. it also may not sound good at all if you just feed it the head unit power... but you do never know till you try!

well, we call that a good ol' 'motorboat' in my generation! great movie that wedding crashers!

I don't remember (it was a knock off brand). I'll have to look, but it's at my dad's. For now, I'll just try four new 4" speakers and go from there.

I was wondering does the player have RCA output jacks to connect directly to the bazooka? Since the bazooka has an amplifier designed for the two speakers it should compliment the four speaker setup.

Speaker choices range from "replacement" 4" speakers at AutoZone for about $15 each (not recommended) to 4" Dual brand and others for about $30 a pair at auto stores to $70 and up a pair at local auto stereo stores like Audio Express.

I'm in the middle ground on mine. Mrs. Cusser's 2005 Yukon has the Bose stereo system, sounds good. The Yukon's also quieter than a B-truck, imagine that.

If you want bass, adding more speakers, that are not able to make any bass, won't help. Get a "sub" woofer.

IDK about the size of Bazooka, powered speakers. I have a passive, Bazooka 8" behind the passenger seat. The seat goes one click short of all the way back. Whatevs, I don't have to sit there. I was able to get the stock bench to slide all the way back, with the Bazooka in place.

I wouldn't run the "sub" or the 4" dash speakers full range. If you can't swing a 4 channel amp, with active crossover, at least put some bass blockers in line with the dash speakers.
