Do you mean at the rear of diff?
If so it's a watt's link. Due to the parrallel four bar setup this is used to keep diff central.

dude not tryn to be a smartdonkey.... but i would cover the back window while welding or cuttin with torch if you plan on keepin it.

I bet you are having fun shaving that gas door, mine has been a bitch because its so close to the rounded portion of the body line. I would gusset some of the frame, considering you welded it on top of the original frame.
