just put the money in the right places. shocks are a must! you can buy a decent welder for around 300-400. just cut the front bump stop mount out. it causes the rough ride and the bottoming out. flip the lower ball joint in the front and put in a shorter shock. not an expensive set of toxic shocks or something like that. they are just normal shocks that are shorter with their sticker on it. they did all the homework and found out what shock is shorter off of what car and will fit on your truck. just run over to the parts store and measure and find a shock that is shorter. and crank down and reindex the torsion bars. in the rear, do a 3" block, not a 4". ive seen many 4" block shatter. i dont trust them. take your leafs springs apart and just install the overload leaf on top of the main leaf. and some air shocks to round out the budget. the whole notch thing is something that you will have to figure out on your own. do you want some big ass piece of stuff in your bed or do you want to keep your bedfloor for hauling stuff? if you want to keep your bed floor you can make a weld in half notch. heres where some of that "knowledge or skill level" comes in handy if you have it. you can get a 4" piece of pipe and cut it in half and make 2 "C"s. put a strip of metal across the top of the frame for added support. then just cut a half circle out of the frame and weld in the "C". just dont get too happy and go way up into the frame. just a little notch is plenty. that will give you the added travel without cutting your bed floor. had a friend do this and he was pegging reflectors and it rode like a cadillac
