Hey guys, its an honor to join your site. I and some friends are planning on doin a conversion in a 89(i think thats the year) B2200 we have already jerked the motor out and the clutch is gone. The engine has a bad head so we think maybe we can have some fun with it. We have been workin on cars since we were 13 which is only 7 years lol, but we are ready for the task-we hope. The truck will very rarely be driven on the street and is mainly just for fun. We dont plannin on droppin it or anythin as of now except the swap. So I hope you guys can help me out with a bunch of questions I have. Thanks in Advance and thanks for lettin me join up with u guys
OH and we are gonna try to do this as cheap as we can, we are both college guys and moneys are short.

1. Which would be the easiest motor to swap in and the cheapest. (350 vs. 302 vs. Whatever turbo swap u guys are doin these days) What is your personal opinion on which will be the fastest, cheapest, and easiest?

2. Unless I am swayed otherwise I am thinkin SBC. Do stock manifolds fit? How hard are the mounts to make both tranny and motor? Are there any places that sell already fabbed sets?

3.What do u think the total cost will be for the swap? We already bought the truck for 100 bucks

4. What rear end and Radiator, and to use?

5.Any other great tips you guys could help me out with.

Welcome. And as dev said talk to v8mazda4ever. Also I posted the v8 swap instructions and brochure in the engine section, search for that it might answer a few of your questions.

Also Elbine I checked your writeup. Does anyone still make the kit??

i have a 351w in which is about the same at a 302, it wasn't a hard swap at all if your have some fabrication skills, and are capable of doing some wiring..

The only place that made swap kits was Ultimate Customs and theyve been out of business for awhile now.

yeah the 302 is def easier to swap over, u can use the mounts off of the 302 and use a 9/16 drill bit wher you old mounts use to be to install the 302 mounts, u can use the stock radiator from the maz, an u can use the heater core, ull have to massage the left side of the trans tunnel at the fire wall a bit, an use the factory exhaust manifold, much more room.

Is it that easy even on the 1989.

^^ Should be 86-93 b series are the same.
